Lake is built and will begin filling soon. Now time to begin construction of a dock. What type of posts would you recommend I use below the waterline? Any special treatment, etc?

If you have to use wood posts, I believe AC2 treatment is rated for underground/water use. Regular treated wood is not.
We have used 2" galvanized pipe for pier posts, and they have been in the lake since the mid 1970's. The pier is not removed every year.

I used old telephone poles. No worries.

I went with the old telephone poles myself. My excavator thought I was nuts when I was holding on to them while he was driving them I'n. But hey, the dock is there to stay.

I put mine in before the pond filled. Dug the post holes by hand and anchored them in with half a bag of dry concete before setting them and the other half to fill in before filling the rest with soil. As you said, there to stay.
