My first shop project after hand surgery become multiple projects. Converted bench grinder to pedestal grinder on wheels. Wired in a heavy duty ceiling electrical station so large power tools can be used in the best lighting and grouped together for specific projects. When not in use or when there is a vehicle to work on they are rolled out of the way. Cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Notice the bare floor under the work bench! No one had seen that floor in 30 years.

I was looking at Dwight's re-organization the other day and we talked about him first starting his computer business in this shop. Things have changed a lot since then.
Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

Nice!!! Would love to have a band saw like that! They make them every day in China. Some have better paint job's than others Is that a Buffalo or similar branded drill press? They actually work if you do not use them that much. My dad has had one for over 20 years and it get's used, maybe twice a year. Still works good, for a simple drill press. China!!! Ye haaa!!!

The band saw is a Jet and the drill press is a Grizzly. I use them both a lot for a guy in a hobby shop. I have had zero problems with either of them. Let's see some photos of your hobby shop projects, tools and equipment!

I like the grinder being on casters. Great idea, hadn't considered that. No problems with it tipping over?

You don't want to see my shop(s)and I'm not going to show them. A clean shop is a sign of a sick mind.

I like the grinder being on casters. Great idea, hadn't considered that. No problems with it tipping over? My tip test showed 60 pounds of side pressure at the head wouldn't tip it. I made the base out of 1/4" x 6" plate so it is bottom heavy. You can place a foot on one wing of the base if you feel you need more tipping resistance.

Does Gail allow you to do 'projects' inside the house, or are you relegated to only 'projecting' in your shop?

Does Gail allow you to do 'projects' inside the house, or are you relegated to only 'projecting' in your shop? Yes, on man-projects. Man-projects are projects Gail wants me to do. In the spare time she allows me, I work on my-man-projects.

Kinda like me. I do the stuff that I like after I finish my Wifes "hey boy" stuff.

Dwight, How do you like the Dewalt tools? I have Dewalt and Milwaukee. I bought the Dewalt because the batteries were cheaper. I find them to have better housings and are just as powerful. Only thing I don't like is that the drill chucks are a bit lower in quality. After I sold my shop, not much equipment is left, but I still have a fair amount for hobby stuff. It's spread all over Michigan right now. I did get a few of my Bessey Clamps back from a buddy last Saturday. I sold most of the equipment online and some to local companies. Had a 3 day auction after that. The auction sucked and did not get much, but all the high dollar stuff was gone by then. If you buy a trailer in Texas, they got my 100 ton Metal Muncher. Sweet Machine for sure!!! Sure do miss the hobby shop! I would always be building stuff. When I get my current hobby project complete, I'll post photos with explanation. I don't think it will have many more than 400 wires But it should prove to be somewhat interesting to a few. One thing I have to figure out, is how to set up a web site. Never done that before.

That is the same Dewalt saw with stand that I have. Sure works nice!!! I bought the saw a couple years ago from Lowe's and got the stand for Free!!! It was like being in the right place at the right time The stand is pretty stout also, and saved me a few bucks! Mine is at my Dad's in Fremont right now. Mobile Machinery! I like that! I have several boxes of casters I am trying to figure out what to do with. Pretty sure they are 6x2 with Urethane tread, could also be 8". I have not seen them in a while. That would really look goofy slipping those Hush Puppies on the saw. I'll grab them this weekend and see what is up.

I have had good results with Dewalt products. That drill on the shelf has turned 1000s of screws and drilled things way beyond it rated capacity. The quickest (maybe even dirtiest) way to do a simple website is Godaddy.
