I'm going to be planting grass in two days - about 1A around pond and both sides of the dam. I've gotten a few conflicting suggestions, and just wanted the opinions of some of you guys/gals that have done it recently. Weather is good, and rain is 50% from fri-wed. I'm about 50 miles south of the line between Atlanta and Birmingham. Rye, Bermuda, Fescue???
Thanks

Bermuda. We use roots around all of our ponds and they seems to take well. If you can water the bermuda that will greatly help it get established. Holds soils well and comes back great year after year. May take a few years to get it really established but it will improve on itself each year.

If you can rent or borrow a grass drill, that's the easiest way to get the seed in the ground.

I have had good luck working up the dirt with a harrow and my side by side then spreading the seed with hand spreader and then pack it and keep it watered. If you have equipment like esshup says then go that route.

Thanks, I Think Bermuda mixed with rye is probably my best bet.
Scott, not sure what a grass drill is, but I'll check into it.
