I'm looking at getting a set of electronic muffs. I need something that has the least interference between my head and a gunstock, but still has a high db rating. I'll use earplugs under them just to be on the safe side. Going 'yote hunting with the Long Range Rifle and I want to preserve what hearing I have left. I'll be burning 110g of powder, and the rifle has a partitioned muzzlebrake, so it's LOUD. I'll be hunting with a few other guys, and I want to be able to hear what they're saying, and I'll be operating the electronic caller. If they miss, and the 'yote stops running, then they'll have time to put their fingers in their ears before I breathe on the trigger. Suggestions anyone?

Can't give much advice on the muffs. I've had a couple of them but nothing seems to do much good when a guy like you shows up at the range.
With 110 grs of powder and a brake your buddies need to go behind a hill with serious muffs. They still might be bleeding from every orifice.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dave, you're right. A neighbor and his buddy were hunting on his parents place that is about 1/4 mile away. I fired a round thru the gun amongst a few other friends firing .30-06, .270 and 9mm rounds. The next day he came over and said his buddy asked him what kind of ordinance I was lighting off at my place, and hoped that I had a long enough fuse on it.

I have never heard of them.
I wish I was warned when a .45 went off. The sound popped my left ear. It bounced in and out of a long narrow building and I was standing right there. I can't hear my alarm clock or talk on the phone because of that thru my left ear. Seems like every place I go, people talk on my left side or talk so soft and I have to tell them I could not hear a word they said. I can hear high tinny things like pneumatic hammers driving in pins and rivets, to the point it hurts. Other than that, silence can be golden at times.

Scott, I use the Peltor Tactical 8 e-muff and love them. You can hear a mosquito fart at 300 yards under full sound amplification, yet any sharp noise is instantly killed.
