As 2011 draws to a close, and we prepare for 2012, it's again time to man up (or woman up) and use the "donate" tab in the right top corner of the page to support the wonderful thing we have going on here at Pond Boss.

Any amount helps keep this forum going.

Generally, I try to give once a year, but do as you will.

I only donated 5 bucks thru Paypal. Heck, I did not know how much was in the account and it took a couple stab's at getting the password correct.

Hey, a buck is a buck, correct???

Got $11.70 left for splurging on exotic's!!! That is cool!

Now, If I could only remember my other paypal login and password.

Some relative in the distant future may be contacted about that one after I am directing worm traffic around the perimeter laugh

Ditto...and proud to do it. You guys are the greatest. Many thanks to all of you, particularly my Biologist Extraordinaire, who have been most helpful to me.

You'd have more money if you'd stop buying all those fancy gizmos for your impending fish system. grin

If you need a loan let me know as each of my fish tanks run on less than 50 watts of electricity, and one of them is being run by child labor at the local high school. No utility costs either. I get the fish back in May! How's that for a business plan. cool

I forgot about this one.

Na Cecil,

I just don't allow my funds to be easily accessed online.

If it is a PITA for me to get funds online, that much more difficult for a crook.

I like my fancy gizmos cool

I'll toss some more in the kitty, someday!

Only a few more months left in the year. If you haven't donated this year, now is as good a time as any.

Remember, in 2013, the Hall of Fame starts fresh!

Just Donated! Thank you all so much for all you've done to help bring this old pond back to a thing of beauty!

March 1st of this year I experienced the pleasure of having my own pond. Had it not been for PB, priceless advice and this forum, my pond would be overran with FA, Coontail, DW and just plain ugly.

It's now aerated, clean, healthy and beautiful.

Pond Boss Rocks!

Now if I could just figure out all of the abbreviations I'll have it made crazy

As the summer quickly, yet quietly, draws to an end, please take a few moments to reflect on how the forum has helped you to reach your goals this year.

Then, please consider giving what you can to reflect the value of what you've gotten here at the Pond Boss forum.

Thanks, Sunil. I think that in the heart of the "Pond Season", it's a good time to show appreciation for all of the positives that come from the existence of this forum. There's nothing like it anywhere.

For sure nothing like it!! Every time I catch a fish on my pond or one of my relitives do they comment on how awesome looking they are and so colorful!! And I tell them it's because I had a lot of good folks help me out and get me on the right track to pond management!

Thanks everyone here for all that you do and take time to do for others!! It's hard to find that this day and age!

For me personally, 2012 was my first year with a pond and joined PB last May.

2012 was a year of asking a ton of questions, cleanup, rebuilding, making mistakes, asking more questions, remodeling, adding aeration, suffering a fish-kill, removing unwanted weeds (DW & CT), making more mistakes, asking more questions, building/making a cage, stock tank, compressor cabinet, DW skimmer, "prickly rope", etc., making more mistakes, asking more questions, and finally stocking. None of which I could have done without the great folks on PB, except the mistakes as I do those well enough on my own grin

2013 has been a year of many more questions, maintenance, making more but fewer mistakes, establishing a successful feeding program, watching the fish develop and grow, a lot of fishing, sharing what I've learned with other pond owners, trying to show my appreciation whenever I have the opportunity and making several donations to the PBF with more to come as $$ permits.

What all this has done and most importantly, is allowed me to now have a beautiful pond and a beautiful place to share with family and friends where we can relax, fish, and enjoy each others company at a place so peaceful that all negative thoughts are left at the front gate.

All in all, every conversation I have that involves the word pond, or fish includes mentioning Pond Boss, the Pond Boss Forum and all the great folks willing to share their vast amount of knowledge and more than happy to do it. Some may be tired of hearing it but I couldn't be more proud to say it!

It's been a lot of work, a lot of learning, a lot of fun (and a lot of money crazy ), but an experience and memories that will last a lifetime.

So to echo Bruce and RC, there's nothing like it anywhere!

Thanks PB!

I believe that financial support of the forum is important, yet, my annual contributions have not earned a Hall of Fame induction. Certainly, it would be nice if all who benefit could contribute to the support of the forum, but the absence of the Hall of Fame designation doesn't necessarily indicate a lack of financial support from any particular individual.

The HOF designation is done manually, so the blame for failure to list one's status could lay with many, many people.

Which. I guess, means we will see that hallowed HOF beside Mr. Landry's name soon!

FWIW, I've always gotten a "thank you for contributing" and that's enough for me.

Blame is unimportant, Sunil, oversight is always understandable, but the lack of a designation, in this instance, could indicate a lack of support and that is simply not the case for an unknown number of people on the forum.

I think I got here a few months after you and Ric Swaim. I think you were still in law school. Dave, George, Dr. Cody and Edgar were here before the forum was online. Ilovefishingmark probably has a dozen children by now. It's been fun all the way. Remember the guy who said we were communists or something on that order? Great fun.

Have you heard from Ric at all?

I know he was sick, or may have had cancer.

Oh, and 'law school?' Come on!!

I emailed Ric a few months ago. Seems that all his spare time is spent working on his portfolio. Didn't mention illness at all. And I had an email from him a couple weeks ago asking me to forward a scathing message to all my friends regarding, among other things, the congress exempting itself from laws that apply to the rest of us. Nothing new in people being hacked off about that sort of thing so I did as he asked.

Hee hee, yep, law school. I don't know how I got that impression but if you take my deduction as a personal slight, I apologize herewith. Truly, it was an honest error. I somehow got the impression that you were waaay smarter than the average bear, but if being thought of as bright isn't to your liking, welcome to dum-bass land.

Here is a quote from a PM that a forum member sent to one of the moderators, and it sums things up very nicely:

"After being on the forum a month or so and receiving advice that will save me thousands in the future, I clicked that Donate button and thought at the time, this button should really say "Invest" not "Donate!" It's been since late August that anyone has ponied up with some financial support for the forum.

If you have not yet given for 2015, there is still time, but why wait??

Well then lets get this party (re)started grin

For me personally I had a PB year I will never forget, owing many thanks and much appreciation to all things Pond Boss, including the honor of meeting so many of you in person!

Pond-wise, at 3 years most LMB are over 3.5 lbs and 100%+ WR, BG exceeding 9" and many HSB exceeding 3 lbs and a few at 4.

Then of course the 5 week PB fishing adventure!

How could I not be Lovin Livin in 2015!

Thanks, everyone and I'm more than happy to contribute when I can.

Keith

SteveZ, right click on the "I Subscribe" image in my signature area, and then copy image to your computer. Then, you'll have to put that image in a picture hosting site. Once that's done, you can put the image in your signature area.

Sounds complicated, but it's not.

Donate some money too!!!

Pretty sure you need to select a jpeg file.

Let me try something.

Put exactly what I write below immediately before that link you have:

Now, put this immediately after:

[/IMG]

That should work.

BTW, you are now lifting that from my photobucket account. I don't think thats a problem, but just FYI.

Even though we talk about a myriad of things here on the forum, subscribing to the magazine gives you insight into many other things that are only touched upon here.

There is a list of all the issues in the archives and what articles were in each one. If any seem particularly interesting, back issues are available from the Pond Boss Office.

The forum here is different than the magazine, and while the moderators are not paid (contrary to what some of us joke about), the forum still costs 1,000's of dollars per year to host. The donations here on the forum go directly to help offset the cost of the forum.

There are a number of pond professionals that are here on the forum answering questions for no charge. If every pond owner that asked a question here would contribute just a portion of what a consulting fee would be if they had a pro come out to their pond to answer the same question, the forum would be well in the black.
