Just saying hello and introducing myself. I'm looking at building/expanding a pond in NW Jack County, TX. I've browsed around a couple of times, but just registered. Looking forward to digging into some good planning information as I move towards taking what was to be a cattle tank and turning it and the surrounding area into a bass pond that feeds a cattle water area.

I only wish I would have gotten this done before this area of TX got all the rain we got this spring.

Welcome, Touchstone in Texas.

Keep in mind that if you have a long forum name that it often gets abbreviated.

Well, they do say everything is bigger in Texas, but now that I notice that your posts show where you're from, maybe I'll cut out the Texas part.

We have a new book out, called "Perfect Pond, Want One?" It teaches people how to buy land, seek out the perfect pond site, plan the pond and build it. The book has chapters on renovating older ponds, dealing with poor soils, etc. It may be exactly what you need. It costs $20 and is available through the Pond Boss office at (800)687-6075 or you can order it through the website.
I would also get in touch with Mike Otto, the best pond builder/earthmover I have ever met. Call him at (800)882-DIRT.

Bob,

I had already ordered the manual and a subscription, but I don't see the new book on the site unless it goes by a different name.

It's not on the website yet, but IIRC if you call the number they can get you a copy.
