That's a lot of shiners!!!

Can you tell us about the pond? Size, if it's new or if there's an existing fish population? I apologize if this was already covered.

It's about 25-30 acres. Currently there are bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill and grass carp. I'm working on growing quality LMB. I try to stock the lake 2 times a year. After taking out lots of 10-12 inch bass and stocking the lake, I have seen much improvement. I have a couple pics of nice LMB under the photo gallery. Thanks for asking.

Harvest those LMB. Suggest you feed the BG even if its only 1 feeder it will make a difference. Get a survey done to see where things stand.

Thanks for the pics - look like quality GShiners.

Congrats, Dan. Is the lake your own, or do you help manage it for a neighborhood or a club or such?

It's my father in laws lake but i started managing the lake after catching alot of small bass. There are big bass in the lake, hence the photo gallery, trying to get more quality instead of quantity

Great thread.

However, if it was my water, I'd contract for Bob Lusk, or another very well-recognized private-waters manager, as my adviser for at least two years.

Good luck,
Ken

Hey Todd -Here are a couple of pictures of the lake along with 2 recent bass I caught. I nicknamed one - "little stubby"...

Hey Ken,
I had Shawn Banks from Midwest Lake Management come out last October and shock the lake. So far things are going well with my mission to grow quality bass.

Just curious what you paid for the shiners, they did look healthy.
