Hi,

Does anyone know if Koi are more susceptable to harsh winters than other fish. I have a 1/2 acre pond, 13 ft. deep maximum in NE PA. I lost all (10) 15 inch 3 year old Koi over the winter. I found a partial carcass of one during the ice melt. Is it more likely they died of the harsh winter stress or were they predated during the ice melt. Since this is a second property, I was not around during the melt. They already survived 2 other winters although this one seemed to be somewhat harsher. My LMB, YP, and BG are fine. Thanks for any ideas. I'm just curious. I don't think I'll put in any more. Contrary to what I was told by the fish farm, they really didn't seem to impact FA much.
