Discovered a really strange group of eggs at the edge of my 3/4 acre pond in Wisconsin. Photo attached, will try to describe...

Thousands of small eggs approx 2 to 3mm diameter laid into a hollow tube that's approx 3 feet long. Eggs look more like fish eggs than frog or toad spawn.

Any ideas what laid them?

Yes, that is exactly what they are. Yellow perch lay their eggs in a long gelatinous ribbon, typically on top of some vegetation to hold it off the bottom so that water movement can keep it aerated

Agreed. YP eggs. Congratulations, Dad!

Definitely look like YP eggs to me too!
I have a question that maybe Cecil or someone else can answer?

We always see the eggs around our pond, mostly on the east and North east sides. We have a variety of fish including Suckers in there and never see any YP fry. Is there a way to scoop the eggs and hatch them somehow without leaving them vulnerable to other fish attacks?
I was thinking of using something like window screen material to make up a box to place over them in the water. Would this sort of thing work? We do not have a second pond to transfer them to.
Thanks
