I submitted a post last fall about having my pond dug out. I was looking forward to stocking it with brook trout this spring, but the clay is still suspended in the water...very muddy looking. I've seeded the banks and surrounding area, but the grass hasn't taken yet. Knowing how brook trout like clean water, do you think I should give the pond a full year to settle down, the grass to establish itself and stock next year?

Take a look here: http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=124005#Post124005

It's a long read, but it tells you how to clean up your water in a week or less. You'll be ready for trout in no time if you follow the threads instructions.

Thanks for your responses. That was an excellent thread esshup. I think I'll wait until next year to try the Alum since the source of my suspended sediment is coming from the banks (at least I think so). Those were some pretty amazing results, really liked the photos too. It sure is a relief knowing that there is a fix out there if the muddy water doesn't resolve itself. Waiting is not going to be easy!
