They're saying on a fishing website the DEC is discouraging people from going into the Adirondacks this weekend:

http://www.adirondackalmanack.com/2011/04/major-flooding-across-adirondacks.html

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Yeah we had 3.06 inches of rain and Tstorms the past 3 days, the Great Sacandaga lake down the street from me is at record flood stage and the Upper Hudson is also bad cause there's still snow in the mountains.
I can't get up to the pond until next week but the 2 outlet pipes have never had a problem handling heavy rain.
We may freeze our butts up here but Tornado's are almost nonexistent.

AP,
The word is ALMOST nonexistant. We had one come through NH, a mile up the road from us, two years ago that left a strip in the landscape a 100 feet wide. Luckly, only one person was killed.

Your right about the snow and cold, it dosen't seem so bad after seeing what happened in the south this week.

Yeah same here, about 8 years ago a small tornado came thru a flat area about 7 miles south of here, tore up some of the woods for about 200 yards.

I remember back in 1995 a big one hit Great Barrington Mass.

One of the longest on ground tornadoes on record actually occurred in Massachusetts, but I believe that record has been eclipsed.
