I know I'm a little late to ask this question, but we stocked 4,000 2-3" CNBG in our new 3.25 acre pond yesterday along with 50lbs of GSH. We have two feeders ready to go, I have some Lil Strike coming next week, but after seeing that most of the fish were in the 2" range, I got worried that that is not the correct food for them. Should I proceed or go to another option, all advice is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to PB. Tell us about the food. Size and contents. There is small food and mixed size food on the market. What size were the GSH? Do you knoe what they have been eating at the hatchery?

Thanks for the welcome. The GSH were 3"-4". We asked alot of questions and didn't get any feedback from the guy. Every answer was well it varies.....How many pounds of bluegill of this size makes a thousand...well it varies...pretty shady character, we will not be return customers. Hopefully we got the number of fish we paid for.

Yes, says good for fish less than 6", but that is pretty vague don't you think?

Brad, you've got some neighbors from WV on the forum and some from VA as well... Is your pond in WV or somewhere else? If it is in WV, then your CNBG, will most likely not make it. WV is too far north CNBG to live in all but the mildest of winters or power plant cooling reservoirs. Could you possibly catch a few of the fish you just stocked and photograph them for us to look at? Hopefully what you got were northern BG. I have a feeling you may have gotten HBG. What hatchery did you purchase your fish from?

Hey, Brad, welcome to the forum from another Mountaineer! Glad to have you on board. Tell us more about your pond and goals and definitely post some pics! If you're willing to share, whereabouts in Dub-Vee are you? And, like Travis (CJBS2003) asked, what fish supplier did you deal with?
