Everything is covered in ice right now. Got the truck running to melt the ice off, it's pretty thick. Then we could get a bunch of snow on top of it. Some places could get up to 12 inches.

It's going to be an interesting drive in this morning. I have about 12 miles of country back roads with hills and a lot of curves to go before I get to a main road.

Truck has been running for about 20 minutes. I can scrape the rest off.

Typical Michigan weather.

I'm sure glad that went north of us!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

We got about 1.5 inches, but they got 12 inches only an hour north of us.

The snow all blew north of here. Glad that happened.

The power went out for most of the day. They just got it back on about 5 minutes before I got home. What timing grin

The roads were pretty good on the way back home, except for my road. They never even touched it, just as bad as when I left this morning. Our road is always the last one to get cleared frown

Maybe they ran out of sand and salt? I can help them with the sand for next year grin

I did hear that our county will buy sand and gravel from property owners, plus they will excavate it. I have not verified it yet, but I have a very coarse Plainfield sand with about 30% gravel when you get down a bit.

They could take out a couple acres and go down 30 feet or so. I would not mind.

Another "to do" thing on my ever growing list.

Hopefully there a clay layer down there or would you be putting in a liner?

There is some clay down there, but probably not enough. The front pond would be a GW pond, no liner. The smaller ponds out back would have liners. I can make those work pretty easy. It may just be wishful thinking for a pond out front. Our GW level is supposed to be around 7 feet. I think it is replenished by a huge wetland area a couple thousand feet away that gets pretty good runoff. I'll keep investigating.

Got a light dusting of snow on top of the ice this morning. That will make it even more fun on the way in.

We got a light dusting of snow here too last night. Thankfully none of the ice though.
