Do any hatcheries raise chain pickerel (jack)? Would they live in a pond if treated like a LMB. I already have a pond being prepared for LMB, one stocked with CC, and was wondering if I could make another a chain pickerel pond. Bad idea? I was thinking I could start with the rotenone, supply forage, and later the chain pickerel. The pond is about 3/4 of an acre and about 8 ft deep in the center. Any advice would help

Travis may be willing to help you out...I know he's a fringe species angling specialist. Travis, if you find a source, give me a shout. I'm also interested in sourcing these!

Yep, the crappie are turning on out at Blackshear. A friend and I caught about a dozen decent ones a week and a half ago. It's been warm down here for a couple weeks, so there are boats trolling for perch EVERYWHERE! I need to get back out there again Hey Dawg.....all I know is Pics love weeds!!!! Been to Blackshear lately?

I see Seny had this topic covered already in a former post. I should have read a little further down the page. I still wish someone raised chain pickerel as I only catch them once in a blue moon

I know of no hatchery sources for CP... Gonna have to be wild caught or you can pay an arm and a leg for some through Aquabid or another similar website that sometimes sells them to the aquarium trade.

Best source is to target them specifically with live golden shiners and circle hooks.
