Glazener Hybrids – HSB that is … Great first day on our pond since November 16, 2010.
Early air temp 61 degrees – near surface water 50.9 – high temp for the day 77 degrees!

Mrs. G was champ for the day – just a teeny bitsy Condello photo technique – not bad for a 5.5 HSB!

Hey George - I think your roomate is much better looking than you. Plus she can 'catch' some good ones. You are the prime example and a lucky man.

Agreed...1st pic fav...got to love a fish that gets on the reel without any help....and Mrs. G's flyfishing skills notwithstanding, its the pink shoes that seal the deal!! Works for me everytime.

Jeff saved our trip by landing fish for us - low water steep clay banks - I only fell down one time - gotta watch my step!!!

I really felt bad about losing her fish and still do.
It's double tough thinking about it but I am facing reality that I can't continue to do things I have taken for granted for so long.
Water level is down about three feet and slick banks after a rain are not for the faint of heart!
Positive note - lots of fat fish!

Thanks to all for continuing support!

Short handle landing net plus golf ball telescopic retriever.
Keeps the angler off steep clay banks and nets fish caught in unreachable water vegetation.

Cut off last golf ball retriever “basket” section and insert into aluminum handle – “Gorilla Tape and good to go.
Should keep me out of the pond!

It'll make the net a bit heavier, but can you replace the netting with the rubberized snagless netting?

Pond thawed today. I picked up bait tonight and will have pics tomorrow. Also tested both my feeders they both worked good (empty).

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

My HBG pond opened completely today. I will probably fish it over the weekend. The other four ponds are still locked up, although not for long at these temps... 65 degrees yesterday and today...

The ice went out two days ago. I got my first fish of 2011 this afternoon. A big golden trout grabbed a full night crawler draped on a #4 bait-hook hanging about 3-feet below a tiny bobber on my ultralight rig.

I already had the smoker going with a new batch of venison pastrami, so I thought it would be nice and easy to have smoked trout as an appetizer with dinner.

I must be getting really soft in my old age. The fish was gently hooked in the upper lip. It was big and healthy. It was incredibly beautiful.

Without touching anything more than the hook, I had it unhooked and back in the water as quickly as humanly possible.

(Rainman -- you may have done me in! The trout you brought me last fall are so beautiful and big, I'm not sure I'll have the heart to catch them out.) cry grin crazy

Those were some fat trout that Rainman brought.

Did you name the fish, Ken?

Cat, when you come to the Conference, I'll be happy to take you to the birthplace of your adopted trout children! It is less than an hour from Big Cedar...BTW You were stocked with Emmerson Strain Rainbows and the goldens are simply a genetic color variation that are raised from the original Rainbows.

I'm with you Ken, these were the prettiest, most brightly and intensly colored Golden trout I have ever seen!

The boys and I did manage to hit the ponds yesterday and today. No big Bluegill, but it was good to get out. Saturday, the water temp in the hybrid pond was 50 degrees at a depth of two feet, and there were a lot of fish in the shallows. Today, the temp dropped a few degrees and the fish were deeper. We were able to catch a few out of every lake, however the photos are all from the HBG pond. These fish were 3-4" when stocked in March of 2009.
