Bruce, you really need to have the Jaws theme music playing along with that BG video.

Condello bluegills feeding in the first cage and largemouth feeding in second cage. Background noise is the nearby highway. The Condello bluegills feed much more intensely now in warmer water. Click on picture to get it started.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

These are the YOY FH from the fish I stocked into my neighbor's pond. We had a great spawn and with no predators they're doing well. I collected about a dozen and have them in a 10 gallon aquarium. As you can see I had a few tadpoles in the net too.

In the "Many yellow perch" video, it's amazing how many fish are there and not taking the bait.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

I could be wrong, but it looks like the perch in the first video are adults, and the perch in the second video are juveniles. Could it be that the juvies are targeting smaller food items?

Wood those are great vids. Thanks for sharing. In the second one about 2/3 the way through what spooked the school - a pike ?
GW how did I miss your vid. One of your fish sure looks and acts like a yoy LMB. You sure that pond was empty or the fish order pure?

The perch in the first video are adults, about 12". The large schools are 3-5" little guys. The lake we were fishing is a rainbow trout lake stocked by the gov't. Perch were illegally introduced many years ago and do not have any other predators (pike) to keep them in check. You can drill a hole anywhere and find thousands. The large schools of small perch spook when the odd larger perch or rainbow swim in. You can fish all day and catch only a handfull of keeper perch, but it is fun for the kids.

My pond has 24". Local lakes are around 18". Not much for this time of year. Was -26c this morning. Ice will keep thickening for at least two more months.
