Currently,I have about a 5 acre TANK (cattle pond) mud bottom with a few willow trees lining the bank. We have stocked the pond many times and have a good crop of channel cats, and MILLIONS of various perch (which may be part of the problem). My issue is that the perch both sunfish, bluegill and hybrids, never get much bigger than my and and my cats stop growing after about 2-3 lbs. I have tried to catch bass in the lake and introduce them, but after a week they float to the top. Maybe not enough cover, or oxygen in the summer to keep them alive??? My question is?? Could crappie make it, or has anyone heard of Warmouth (gargle-eyes) both these seem to get larger and would provide a better fight than my brim population?

Aggie, how deep is the pond? Especially during a hot, dry Summer after maximum evaporation?
