OK, I already know that some folks are gonna say "no picture, no fish" but... wink

I'm pleased to announce that I caught the biggest LMB from my pond that I'd ever seen in there - guessing it was close to 7 pounds. I was actually trying to take a picture but, I had it in my left hand still holding it in the water while I fumbled for my camera with my right hand and that big ol' girl gave a violent shake and got away. That was just fine with me - sort of. I wanted her to get back in the water ASAP anyway.

Caught it on a 5" junebug Senko fished weightless in the creek end of my pond in about 2 feet of water.

Been catching a bunch of little ones and culling - they are all still nice and fat, though.

Good reports everybody!

Uh huh, yeah, right, sure you did Al! laugh laugh

Congratulations! It's all about the thrill personal satisfaction, not the bragging rights (although that's fun also!).

George1, Those are two of the prettiest CNBG I have ever seen!!!

The jitterbug is such a dependable easy to fish lure.
It's crazy but I've been having the most luck in my lake
with the old standard H&H spinner bait.
I put on some fancy $6 spinner-bait...nothing.
Throw on the same color H&H and BOOM...fish-on!

I've been told I need to "cull" my black bass too.
This may seem like a dumb question, but what is the
best way to do that? I am not going to mess with cooking
them. Do you just throw them up on shore or cut'em up and
throw the remains back in for the catfish to feast on?

H&H

When we cull, we do one of 3 things:
1) take 'em to somebody who wants to eat 'em
2) take 'em live to the other side of the dam and release them in the creek
3) cut their tails and release them to feed our bigger fish

I know that last one may seem cruel to some folks but, not to folks like us who have spent some $$$ on trying to pump up our forage base. wink

Thanks Al....Yeah I may try to find a poor family out in the country and see if I can sometimes drop off bunches of fish to them. I guess it really doesn't matter because they end up dead and gettin eatin by somethimg one way or the other. But it would be nice to help someone in need. I suppose the easiest method is killing or maiming them and throwing them back in the lake to fatten up the cats.

If you have catfish that large in your pond there is no need to cull bass. Or small children. laugh

Jeff...I wish...well maybe not....lol
I think I have some pretty good size cats though.
I am having my first electronic fish survey done in 2 weeks.
But I guess cats don't surface on those?
So I guess I'll never know how big they are.

You should get some catfish to come up. I helped a grad student last year with his project and we got several hundred.

George I thought I told you to quit catching CNBG out of my ponds !! shocked -- laugh Kidding of course (for those who don't know I have the same geneic CNBG as George). Very nice pic - love those colors.

If anyone had told me six months ago that I would have as much fun as this morning, I would have told them they were NUTZZZZ – OK, maybe a few of you did!!!

Mrs, G. out fished me again on these beauties – again! Probably caught over a hundred – most 8–11 inchers but couldn’t break 11 inches.
Thinking they max out at this length and start getting broad???
Released on the bank all 5-8 inchers..

Caught a couple of these ...

And a couple of these ...

Caught a few recently. Here are some pics.

Here are couple tilapia. I don't know the difference between the white and the gray. They were both over 3 pounds.

Here is a fat, wide bg

HSB that eat aq 600 like a pimp smokes crack

7.4 pound lmb that I accidently caught under the dock as he was trying to eat a bg off my hook

My lmb have a weight problem

Finally,
I caught this late in the day and was unsure what it was, I think I got it from Herman Brothers, jk

Those sure are some nice fish you have.

I will be curious to know what kind of Tilapia you have there, as I have not seen any that look like that.

How many did you stock and when were they put in, sure is nice they grew that much for you.

Those are some porkers! You need to work on feeding the shark tho - it's looking a little thin compared to the fish in the other pics. grin
