If you hold Cecil upside down he'll lie totally still. Bill cusses when he was held upside down.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Manage you pond and give that BG time to grow as big as Bruce's. Until that time, do what I do -
enjoy playing with the Bruce Condello action figure:

Thanks Theo and Ewest, I appreciate the support. Pondmeistering is not for the impatient. I'm gonna have to order one of those action figures, I wonder if you can purchase additional pins, six doesn't seem near enough.

Well, they are pretty nice gills.

But you'd think, being dentists fish, he would have done something about that underbite!

Bruce, you should be feeling a stabbing pain on the left side of your forehead, as well as the third toe on your right foot.

I knew it was too good to be true….

Selective breeding, selective harvesting, genetic manipulation, years of pond management experience. We all were led to believe that this was how Bruce had achieved raising such impressive Blue Gill.

But I couldn't help but thinking that others have followed the same path and yet not raised such impressive fish.

So I hired a crack team of detectives to investigate Mr. Condello and determine what the truth was behind his behemoth Blue Gill. And now I'm here to report the truth to all. The detectives observed Mr. Condello sneaking out each evening under the cover of darkness and pouring something from a bottle into each of breeding ponds. The next morning the detectives found this bottle in Bruce's trash.....

11 1/4 inches inside measurement on top of the bucket!

I just got done fishing the area that Cody and Cecil and Nedoc and I seined and caught a very big bluegill. I didn't have my digital camera, so I took some regular photos. The fish was just under 11 inches, and about 3.5 inches thick. The regular photos were taken with an underwater camera, so I put him in a tank with some quarters to see if I could get a decent shot. I'll have to take it in for developing tomorrow. With my luck the film was probably bad from sitting around for two years.

I also noticed a big area without weeds, and I wondered what the heck that was all about, so I walked right into it with my waders and right there in front of me were about seven nesting male redears. I got straight out of there! Nice to know where they're at, so I can watch my back.

I don't know if I can fully imagine what a 3.5" thick BG looks like. That can't be healthy, Bruce...you need to stop what you're doing and allow your obese fish to lose some weight, lest we all feel inferior...

I'm tellin' ya, this has to be one of the goofiest pictures ever posted in the history of Pond Boss. I put the bluegill in a tank, since Theo's always giving me a hard time about my long arms, and I put quarters on the bottom of the tank to give perspective. Then I used a old underwater compact camera. I thought the picture was going to be all beautiful and colorful, but this is what I got.

Now be honest with me. Does this look like a really big bluegill? I'll take it like a man. Now remember, he's a few inches behind the quarters--so no long arm quotient here. I wish I would have put the quarter right under him. It's a 24 mm. lens so it kind of makes the quarter look a little bigger than they really are (the opposite problem I usually have \:D ) I measured his actual width and it wasn't quite 3.5, but it was a little over three, so sorry for the exaggeration. \:\)

At the very least, the pictures are good enough to show that those are really dimes and not quarters as we were led to believe.

Who needs long arms when one can use vague currency?
