I'm still getting parts for my system slowly but surely. I I've a question I'm gonna run selfsinking line 25' from each diffuser and 25' from pump. What is the best cheap hose to use to fill the rest of these runs? 5/8"

I'd look at the 1/2" drip irrigation hose. But, it floats.

Yeah i know it's gonna float I'm gonna weight it to save some money. I need around 800' and selfsinking is just out of the question.. Ted said I need to go with 5/8 to keep pressure down on the vertex diffusers

Bluegillerkiller, you only need the weited hose where it enters the water to the diffuser. All other in ground hose can be the cheap plasic stuff.

I'd give Ted a call and ask him about the 1/2" Poly drip irrigation tubing and see if it'll do. You can buy it real cheap on e-bay, and they have large spools of the stuff - no splicing required.

I got all my information from Ted and Bill Cody.. He said atleast 5/8 because we had to build my system around the pump because i got the pump first. My pump is running 10 cfm the vertex diffusers take so low of cfm I need bigger hose and possibly partially opened valves to keep the pressure from ruining my diffusers.
Rainman. Everything that can be done with the cheaper line will be. My pump will be lakeside so I was gonna run from the compressor box to about 20' out with sinking hose then go cheap hose the go back to sinking hose about 25' before the diffuser.

The cheap hose will float in the splice....sometimes attaching weight to the hose, while it can be cheaper, becomes a big issue when diffusers need to be moved. Sooner or later, the diffusers WILL be moved. The good weighted tubing is like building your pond...build it right the first time and it only hurts the wallet once. Do it wrong....well that can hurt for a long time to come! Just suggestions are all we are offering Nick.

There's no possible way I can go with all weighted with the cost, I'm doing the last 25' to the diffuser in weighted so it can be moved easier, the unweighted will be weighted down by attaching a garden hose to it and zip tying every 6" and filling the garden hose with sand. Then replacing the unweighted pieces as i get the money. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm on a tight budget or I would do the whole thing in weighted.
