I have been feeding, observing, and fishing my new pond for the last 4 months. Pond is roughly .27 acres according to Planimeter.
I have caught LMB from 4"-18". All seemed to be healthy and of average weight. I have seen Black Bullheads ranging from 8"-16" feeding on pellets. I have a pretty large population of Golden Shiners in the 2"-7" range that I observe when I start tossing pellets.
When fishing today, my son and I caught common BG in the 3"-5" range within about 10 seconds of the hook hitting the water. I lost count at 19. I added about 5 pounds of Tilapia to control FA about a month or two ago and it has been extremely effective.
My main goal is a consistent food supply for the table. Do any of you have recommendations on what size fish I could start removing for a food source without damaging the balance of the fishery? Currently I believe everything is balanced due to all observed fish being very healthy looking and not skinny at all. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and recommendations.

Mid size of 12-15" LMB and BG in the 8-9" range should be a sfe plan.
I would remove any and all bullheads. They will likely be a big problem in water quality issues soon if not already.
You can also now start removing any tilapia for table fare as well without hurting plant control.

Thank you for the recommendations Rainman. Do you think I need to add any additional species? I am feeding a quart of feed per day and the pond appears to have abundant forage in addition to that.
