Does anybody have an idea where the best place to buy or get clay around brownwood, texas? My dilemma is this. I had a pond dug over 4 years ago and it has not held water for extended periods of time. My contractor feels like the soil needs more clay in spots and we have now found those areas. I have looked at purchasing Texas sodium bentonite out of Comanche but would like to find some clay that I could purchase first. I am having a difficult time finding it and I looked over the 2,000 acres around us without success. Any ideas? Thank you.

I've worked around Brownwood quite a bit and personally think, somewhere on your 2,000 acres, there's got to be some good clay. It may be four or five feet below the surface, but there's got to be some. There are ponds all over that area that hold water. Call Mike Otto and talk with him about it. (940)736-5333

Hello 3DRANCH and welcome to Pond Boss. The first response on your first post is from THE Pond Boss, not too shabby! Thanks for joining and posting to the forums.

Yea, not too bad! This is a great resource for us pond owners.
Hoping someone around Brownwood/May Texas sees this and we can excavate some clay.
Take care!
