Feeding fish like that is fun! I did the same thing, but clipped their tails, and used a small hook (size 10) on a rod to hold them with their nose right at the surface. The LMB would grab them, & I'd yank the hook out of the BG before I hooked the LMB. It got to the point where they were jumping out of the water to get the BG as I lowered them to the water.

The video is of my 5.5 pound lmb per matt from aquative env. He has learned to eat bg by hand next to the pier. You can still see his tag josh placed. pretty cool. Great photos and video. Three years ago we adopted a silly LMB that my grand daughter named "Daily". He is dumber than a rock, and a real sucker for anything that looks edible. He lives under our dock. He feeds on pellets with the bluegill. If we fish off the dock, he is sure to be caught at least once per day. By July, his mouth has multiple red marks from where he has been hooked. He was about 11 inches when we started catching him. He is now nearly 18 inches -- and just as senseless as ever. He is also rather skinny -- maybe a Wr = 0.8. In a way, I feel sorry for him. I couldn't possibly harvest him -- he's become a familiar friend. Keep your friend around. Wonderful fish like this don't appear very often. Ken

You mean "Skunk Ape". Swamp Apes are imaginary and the illusory dreams of desperate people - jeesh! Skunk Apes, however, are a evolutionary cousin to the Northern Range "Bigfoot" - as you so barbarically refer to them - or more precisely: "Sasquatch". I'll be taking questions and presenting irrefutable evidence of their existence at the conference in April.

think of all the extra practice time you two will now have - - perhaps it would be a good time to reveal the PP Petroleum brand in grandiose fashion

I'm gonna need it.
I'm having a very difficult time designing a PP Petroleum sock puppet that won't get me arrested.

But, there is nothing to worry about. The pond frogs all seem as normal as my cat and me: The stray neighborhood cats that regularly visit, all have as much hair as you (or me): And, my favorite Swamp Skunk is always happy to swap favorite snacks: See. Nothing to worry about at Catmandoo Pond.(Ooops! ESSHUP is coming to visit on Saturday. I guess I better hide all my friends.) Ken

Why oh why do I have the feeling that this is going to end in a Skunk Ape stir fry?

Why oh why do I have the feeling that this is going to end in a Skunk Ape stir fry? Oh my! NO! He's my buddy. He gives me Jack Link's jerky and sausages in return for some of my cooking.

Great, now I'm back to worrying about you again Ken. Naw. Not to worry. And my connection to the Swamp Ape posted above is a whole 'nother story. We grew up with the Links. My dad and my uncles bought many cars and trucks from Jack's dad and uncles. My brother and Jack Link, who were neighbors for many years, were just recently featured in a new book about a major forest fire in the Minong/Wascott area of northern Wisconsin. So, I just can't roast my furry friend who shows up in the "don't mess with Sasquatch" series.
