we bought a house a couple months a go and found out after that what we thought was neibors side yard was ours only thing is its seperated from the rest of yard with a large deep stream i was wondering what yalls thoughs was for putting it under water and if its even big enough to worry with the size of the lot is 100 by 100 and is clear besides small pines someone planted would like to find a use for it because the way it is we get no use from it besides the neibors think its a great place to dump there limbs another question is water supply the stream is about 10 or 15 below running strait along side could i use a pump to fill the pond from the stream keep in mind i dont reaally have much knowledge with all this so your guidence would be more than appreciated

Beautiful looking place Ed. A topo map of the property would probably help the experts answer you questions about the pond potential.

What type of snake is that in the fourth photo?

That is a speckled kingsnake. It eats other snakes and small animals and bugs. A good one to leave alive.

Boy, that's a pretty broad question, Ed. There are a bunch of factors that go into that sort of equation and it may help narrow things down a bit if you would share some of your ideas on what the pond would ideally be in terms of shape, depth, overall size, etc. I suspect there are some folks here who could help you ballpark it, but like the answer to pretty much every question asked here, "it all depends!"

I think you shouldn't be afraid of that because the place ir great and there are no big problems about it. As I can see in pictures - maybe there are something that I cannot see but you mentioned some things and these are not so important so good luck and build it up! wink
