Some pic from last weekend. Most of these are in the 5-6 inch class. We did catch some as small as 3 1/2 inches. The 12 yr old grandson and I had a blast!! I think some were the original stocker from 12-4-09 and some may be from the 1st spawn. What do ya'll think.

I think I really like that idea of printing your length scale on the railing of the dock! I wouldn't know enough about the sizes to hazard a guess on whether or not that shows multiple year classes or not, but they seem close enough overall that it may just be some of them are eating better than the others. Looks like you guys had a great time and that's what it's all about!
after almost dropping the tape measure in the pond a few times, i figured I'd just mark the handrail. I can paint over it if needed but I doubt I'll ever do that. It's pretty handy right there. The grandson wasn't too exicted about the BG until he started catching them, then it was all I could do to get him to go eat.

I did catch a couple of what looked like GSF. I didn't have my camera with me at the time but I'll get some pics of them. All I stocked was BG,RES and LMB so I'm not sure how they got there. Any ideas? JHAP may have flown them in????

Not that I am admitting to anything but the UPS rates were much cheaper to your place.

I did finally see some growth in the pond . It's the first of anything I've seen since I renovated last August. Any idea what it is. It seems to be everywhere.

Pull some up and smell it. If it musty smelling and crunchy it's more than likely Chara. I have a bunch of it also and it looks a lot like your pictures but can't be for certain. It's good and back in some ways. It's hard to fish through but your little fish can hide in it and it does procuce 02 at least during the sunlight hours anyway.
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
Thanks RC, I'll do that. I'll pull some and see if I can get a better picture of it also. At least it's not something bad. My pond stays so muddy, I didn't think anything would ever grow in it.
