We have a pond that is near our motel on Lake Fork. I have kept it stocked very well over the past few years but it seems like it can't take the pressure.

I planned on stocking tilapia this year to get rid of the snot moss that takes it over, but I waited to long. frown

It is a largemouth bass pond loaded with lake fork genetics. No matter how heavy I stock it with bass and bluegill it seems like the catch rates are 0-1....any ideas? Keep stocking more fish?

Don't let people fish it as much?

1/2 acre is very small, you probably can only maintain 30-60 pounds of LMB.

Nothing unusual about bass becoming conditioned in ponds. I have a 1.5 acre one that I can only fish 3 times per year.

The snot moss is probably filamentous algae. You need to hit it early with Cutrine Plus but don't hit over 1/3 at a time. Tilapia will eat FA but I think they are over advertised when it comes to actually clearing it. If you put tilapia in next year, I would probably stock about 50 pounds to both eat algae and feed fish.

Putting more fish in will only add to your biomass. Soon, you just might have a die off from a DO crash.
