Great pics bowjo! And I think you're correct on the species IDs, but someone who really knows what they're looking at could verify.

So were all of these in the same stocking?
It is interesting to see the variations in some of them. And it looks like the 2 BG may even be different.
When were these fished stocked again?
Pretty interesting stuff, I hope we hear from the experts on these.
Thanks for the pics.

IDs look good to me. The 2 BG do look different. The bottom one looks to be younger and eating better. Note the smallish head and particularly tail, compared to the body. Good looking hybrids.

So how long did it take to get them to this size and how big are they now?

Given that these were taken only a month ago, I'm guessing there's not any real appreciable change, mrhello. That's not a whole lot of time for substantial growth.

I guess it is not, I just thought that if his happen to vary in size like mine do he may have a large one in the mix somewhere.
Oh well I guess we will see some updates when they are available.
Thanks

As a bluegill lover why are the bluegill "dreaded?"
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I like Bluegill Cecil...They were just not part of the plan for this pond though.I hope my HSB can keep their population in control...

That HSB looks real healthy!
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

That is a nice HSB, I sure would like a few of those as extras in my pond.
It is interesting to see the different variations of your HBG.

This sure makes me want to get out to my pond and check it out. I have had the feeder up about 3+ weeks so probably need to get out and check on it.
I only set it on 2 seconds but not sure how much food it trows in that time or how much the bucket will even hold.
May just buy some to be safe since it is so far to get out there to begin with.
Thanks
