Was wondering if there is any scientific evidence that Pondbosses live longer that most people. I'm gonna be 64 in a couple of weeks and I still have about 30 years worth of work to do on my pond. Just wondering, cause surely there is grand plan to let us live long enough to get our ponds like we want them.

I think I am getting younger because the work keeps piling up.

Heybud,

I don't know about any studies, but I sure hope we do live longer than most. I too have at least 30 years worth of projects. I've been on the community cemetery board of directors for years, and I still haven't had time to pick out our free lots!

Since you are a just a little older than me, you probably remember the chorus from one of Tennessee Ernie Ford's popular song from our childhood:

Quote:
You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

Hopefully, Saint Peter won't call either of us very soon.

Just remember what my fishing mentor, and one of my grandfather's best friends often reminded me of -- old fishermen never die, they just smell that way!

Don't slow down.

Ken

They say that any time spent fishing does not count against your days on earth, with hope neither does time working on your pond.

I'm gonna give you the standard PB answer.

It all depends.

If your situation is like mine, you never know when you might go. I told my wife I could dig a pond in one weekend for $1000. 2 months later and another $18,000 and the pond was finished.

SHE ALMOST KILLED ME!

Whenever I bring up the next "small" project I have for the pond, I get a look that makes me fear that the end is near laugh

It must extend life. In the many years that I've been wasting/investing time on this site, I know of only 2 deaths.

R.I.P. Deaner and Big Al.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

True Scott. I had to break down and admit defeat. The pros came to the rescue. I was really disappointed that I had to have them dig me a beautiful 2 acre pond wink

This plan seems to work for me.

Hmmmm... I really need a pole barn. I think I will tell her that I can build one tonight for $200.

40 x 60 sound good?

I've got plans already drawn up for a 40x64. I can e-mail them to you if you want. They really need to be printed out on 11x17 paper for the best viewing.
