I will be picking up some talapia and I have a 100 gallon tank. First question is does anyone know of a good low cost 12v pump I could use with some airstones? 2nd question is, is a 100 gallon tank enough to handle 50 pounds of talapia for a 35 minute drive with aeration?
If this is the wrong topic to post under...sorry. It is aeration but a little different.

Mike, a simple 12v bilge pump will work fine for such a short trip. Tilapia can survive extremely low O2 conditions.

Is a 100 gallon tank big enough for 50 pounds of fish? When you say a bilge pump, are you referring to the same as in a boat?

Mike; For that short of a trip, you can by tablets that slow release oxygen. These are available at most bait stores.
Good luck with the Tilapia; I wish Virginia would let me stock a few......
