Hi all,
My neighbor is getting quotes from a local pond store (mostly deals with ornamental ponds) for aeration. Does this sound reasonable?
one acre pond and right next to it a 1/4 acre pond. Ponds are about 6 years old, and are getting covered with FA right now.
3/4 hp Rotary Vane Pond Aerator, 230V/ with 4 dual membrane air diffusers,
800' black tubing, 4 gang air manfold for ease of balancing
system
Installation of Compressor & Setting air
pads
Total about $2400. This is the only quote he has.
My question is, does this sound reasonable? I have no idea. I am going to encourage him to get another quote as well.
He will be joining our little family soon. Just wanted to get started on this question for him.

How far is the electric from the pond? It may be my cheap nature, but it sounds high. But then again so does $3.00/gallon diesel!!

The ponds are a about two hundred feet from the house.
