I decided to build a small floating dock.My plan was to have the option of removing the barrels when I got some brackets and pipes drove in and the dock resting on them.I built the dock 8'x6' with 3 barrels in the center. One on each end and one in the middle.I got the deck built and barrels installed tonight. My son and I decided to launch it.I got on it and kicked off shore.Well.. it was a little more unstable than I ever thought it could be.It kicked sideways and I ran uphill then it went the other way.I did this 3 or 4 times untill it got wet and I slipped in the water.I believe 50 to 60 degrees is a little colder than I prefer for swimming ...I expected it to be a little tipsy, but not this bad.I am going to get some pipes and brackets made tomorrow.I hope to lift it up on the pipes and get rid of the barrels all together. ........Joe

Sounds like something I would have done.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

At least the captain went down with the ship, as it should be.

Sure wish I could have witnessed that scene, Bowjo. Rapid fire bad to worse. It'll get even better when wasps build their nests under the decking.

My son must have had a suspicion that something may happen. He begged me to to let him video my first launch.I told him no and threatened to wup him if he did...Now he is mad at me,because he thinks he could surely have won some money with this show!!!!....Joe

I built the dock 8'x6' with 3 barrels in the center Better the barrels are on the 4 corners of the deck, and the center empty. Much more stable that way. Sometimes I get a wild hair and cast off for a ride on my floating deck. I pole it around with a 9 foot pole, and find myself bending way over. I guess I need a 12 footer, but straight skinny trees are hard to find.

Always finding the positives.
