I don't hydrate them. They do feed better if I only throw in one or two at a time and they have to fight for them.

i just bought my first bag of lmb pellets yesterday. my bass have been eating the #5 aquamax pretty good. i fed yesterday and today in the evening and havent seen one eat the karge pellets yet. does it take them a while to try the big pellets? also, i noticed the date on the bag was november 2009, reckon it is old?

It took mine a little while to start eating them and mine were plenty big enough. The lmb pellets get mushy fast. I would think that if you wet them, they would just break apart and make a mess in the water.
I fed a few of the large pellets with some of the smaller ones and they slowly came around.

According to Purina's site no one around my house carries the LM Aquamax. It lists Tractor Supply, and I have three around my house, but I have yet to see any AM products at one. Any suggestions on where I can get some of this feed?

I have to call my local supplier and request AM 500 two weeks in advance...probably the same deal with LM AM - call in and ask them to order you a few bags. I don't think you should have any problems sourcing it that way.

Same here in OH. Give them two weeks and they will get you what you want.
