I have noticed my perch laying strands of eggs all over my branches-my problem and question is:
What do I use to get rid of the film algae that is covering my pond?? I have heard copper sulfate...is that correct?? Any other suggestions to get rid of that stuff without hurting my fish. Also will putting any type of corrective solution on top of that algae hurt my perch eggs that have been laid on those branches that are covered with that green slime?
Thanks,
Dave

I'd leave them alone till they hatch. Any thing you use would probaly kill the eggs.

Dave,

Ditto on the advice from Ken. I have a strange coffee brown algae bloom in my perch broodstock pond I'd like to get rid of, but not until after the eggs are laid and I move them to the production pond.

You know you're the first Mainer that I know of that likes yellow perch. On a fishing website I frequent the Mainers hate them.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
