Just an FYI about FHM prices. I just bought 10 lbs worth of FHM's from Hopper Stephens Fishery in Lonoke Arkansas for 5 dollars a pound. From everything I been reading on the forum I believe that's a pretty good price! I just bought them to help take the initial pressure off of my CNB I just bought so they can spawn and have a half a chance at growing a little before they become food. I got 10 lbs of FHM's for 58.00 dollars! From what I been told that's a steal!

That is a good price. That is assuming it's actually $5.00 per lb.
I say that because I've heard of some who measure by the gallon, or something like that, and I'm not sure how that works.
So how did it feel during the stocking? All warm inside...?

Sounds like you cut out the delivery fee. I pay $9 per pound here. Of course, they come from Arkansas.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

So how did it feel during the stocking? All warm inside...? Probably. Not at all like when you pay extra for bullheads, Little Brother.

say that because I've heard of some who measure by the gallon, or something like that, and I'm not sure how that works. Well, this has certainly been an enlightening thread for me. I was under the impression that some fatheads, at least the small size, could be had for a six pack or two.

Yolk, I think it all depends on the brand of beer.

rc not sure you fully grasp how fortunate you are. we sale for $.05 each you can do math on what that is. We pay the same price you do and buy many thousand at a time. Dave may in fact be getting the same fish you do from right down the road. fhm prices are actually cheaper up north than in many south locations outside AR that is.

$5.00 per pound is a deal i wish i had. I went to get some additional gambusa/fhm's this morning from the local bait shop. They wanted SIXTEEN DOLLARS PER POUND! I started to ask if these minnows had gold teeth... I didnt buy any. Everyone is entitled to a profit but, wow.
I subscribe!

Usually under 6.00/lb here. Some sell them by the gallon which up's the price per pound, usually 7lb/gallon at 44.00 or less for one gallon. price drops the more you buy.

$9.50 per pound down here in South Texas. Would love a $5.00 deal too. Stocking Bluegills 5 to 6" long $85.00 per hundred is that a fair price to you ya?

The BG price isn't bad. I just bought 50 CNB 4 to 5 inches long at 37.50. So 100 would be around 75 bucks for me instead of 85.00. So that's better. It's like Greg Grimes said when it comes to fish hatcheries we are in heaven over here.
