I'm sure this question has been answered but after scrolling months of the forum I didn't find it. I've got the old PB issues but don't know what issue the article was in. Here goes the question:
My pond is 2 1/2 acres, 3 1/2 yrs old. I stocked blue gill 3 yrs ago and LMB 2 1/2 yrs ago. I fertilize and feed the bream some. I consistently catch nice healthy bass. This spring they are all running 1/1/2 to 2/1/2 lbs with one weighing in at 4 1/2(all the way from a 2 inch fingerling). I have not removed any of the bass. The blue gills are plentiful and growing large. I know this is the year to harvest. How many and what size? Should I be concerned that I'm not catching any bass under one to 1 1/2 lbs? Thanks for your response.

I say this all the time but check the Wr of the bass. The plumpness of the bass and your goals will dictate total pounds to remove. If Wr is 100% you may only remove 10 lbs/acre. If trophy bass management is your goal remove more, maybe 20 lbs in your case. Remove the smaller bass less than 14 inches. If you do not have this size bass then probably you are fine. I would only get concerned if after this year you still do not see any small bass. Ever fish with a bettle spin?, great for catching small bass.
