Hey ya'll any idea what this might be? I caught 2 bass today and both of them had this white stuff on them kind almost almond white?? It was in their mouth and on the outer gills and on the tail. Anyone have a clue what it might be? And am I in trouble is there something i can do to treat? Or is this one of those run it's course kind of things? I hope all my bass don't have this!! Thanks,

They look like Clinostomum in the metacercariae stage (yellow grubs). If so, they don't usually hurt the fish unless the fish is absolutely riddled with them. Apparently you have snails, the tremotodes themselves, and Great Blue Herons or bitterns. Not unusual. They can inbend themselves in just about any fish tissue. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_52259_10950-26966--,00.html

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

RES are good fish to have in a pond anyways, so here's your excuse to stock some. If you have adult bass, go for the biggest ones you can find. Try to get them in before they spawn so they pull off a spawn in your pond this spring...
