What size/weight is considered a trophy bluegill? We have had ours in the pond for 14 1/2 months now and my wife caught one 10" long today and real thick. Didn't weight though. Just curious. Cecil?

I think a trophy should be defined each individual, by what you think it is. I consider a trophy something that is done once or twice in a lifetime. Maybe this will help. I just took my father in law to one of my Plantation's. They have some huge bass and he caught one 9 lbs. 13 ozs. It is the biggest in his life and I have never caught one that big. We would agree it is a trophy. However the week before I had in a Sam Taylor a man well known in GA (caught 10 over 14 lbs.). He would have considered it a nice quality fish but not a trophy.

I think a 10.5 inch bluegill is a great fish and I have only shocked up a few that size. However, it seems you may just be on your way to producing some real trophy bluegill in the future. Nice growth rates.

How big were the bluegill when you stocked them?
