Kasco recommends turning it off and leaving in to freeze in. They don't think it will be harmed. If you want to move it, unplug, and pull it out. It only weighs about 75 pounds and can easily be pulled into a boat with two people.

Weissguy , keep in mind. There are other ways, diffused aeration for exapmple that can do about the same thing on a smaller body of water much cheaper. I sell them all, surface, lake life and bottom diffused b/c each have their place. I think if smaller than 3 acres then diffused is way to go and if shallow might look into surface aeration. I like the diversity avialable now to my clients.

guys, i have a pond in northeast, texas. 4 acres, max depth 16 feet. shaped like a horse shoe. heavily stocked. 3 aquo pro feeders. i am interested in the ray scott lake life pump. i knowm they recommend at least 3 acres. do you think slightly larger than 4 acres is ok, or is that a risk? i suppose from the great post that bob lusk put on this thread, you would not need to pump in air also. a good friend of mine has a new 13 acre pond with a max depth of 25 feet that is also horseshoe shaped. i guess his would be perfect for one? does shape matter. on the 4 acre horse shoe (the center of the horse shoe is much larger than the 2 fingers) if you put the pump in the center, would it move water to the 2 fingers ok? thank you.

darrell, if you can post a photo, map, or (to scale) diagram of the pond, it might help answering the concern with center section aeration reaching the fingers.

Darrell you ask a very good question. It is a new product so I sure don't know the answer. I can tell you that fish sense low DO levels and move to the best place (high DO) when they need to. In a 4 acre lake I believe all the fish (ok maybe not all but a very high %) would move to the best place. What I don't know is where that would be with this product given the way it works (forcing surface water down).

I'm curious if there is any new info since the last post on the Lake Life Pump? Anyone out there buy one of these aerators? How much electricity do the 240V versions use?

David U We have sold a few units. Right now have two in Jeff Foxworthy's new lake. I have to go back out b/c one is not working so hopefuly something simple. I also have to be honest other client in MS bought two and our water quality analysis showed not as good as we hoped. Bob Robinson with Kasco is working with me on trying to figure out why we are getting less than desirable results. I will keep you posted. I think Bob Lusk has seen some good results so maybe he will post them here if he has a few moments.

I think Ted needs to put a dollar sign in front of the 5000?
