I'm toying w/ the idea of putting 1-3 smaller ponds on a lot next to my house. Wife insists that if I do that, then she gets a pool. Poor thing. I just had to tell her that a pool is not going to happen and that she & the kids could swim in one of the new ponds, maybe one of the smaller forage ponds.

Sunil, whats wrong with you buddy??? A swimming pool means filtration. Who says you have to use chlorine? You could have a nice AaronM style backyard pond, MASSIVELY overstocked!!!

Sunil, I see nothing wrong with roping off a 5'x5' corner of one of your new ponds for the family - might I suggest the catfish pond.
Yes, I will be building a small forage pond - probably 15x15.
Just do it...

BB, will you use some heavy equipment for the bigger pond, or do it by hand like the others?

A definite maybe! This all depends on the lord of the manor, which of course is not me. I get to make decisions all day at work and some people even listen to me, somehow when I get home I walk through a magical door and all my powers are taken away. Maybe my house is cursed or there is a voodoo spell on me. I may have to consult The Hobbit to see if I can find a clue as to what is going on

Maybe my house is cursed or there is a voodoo spell on me. if there are forces preventing the building of the pond, then a simple solution would be to tamper with the plumbing and create an indoor pond!!! BB, will you use some heavy equipment for the bigger pond, or do it by hand like the others? I'm using a wheelbarrow. I broke ground in September, but didn't do much until November, so its sitting at about 1/4 done so far.

Human power fleet I loved the thought of the one on the right with more room to haul soil, but ended up wrecking it, so I use the ole reliable wheelbarrow in the middle.

Sunil, I'm thinking you need to fly me out to help consult on this new pond construction. No, I don't know anything about pond construction, but I need some excuse to see your place. Yes, I must admit you'd be better off to bring in Bob or Otto-matic. Darn.

Well, Doc, let's set a date and move forward. No reason not to have more than one outstanding person around!
I've said many times, plagiarizing a movie line, that I'd rather amongst the great folks at Pond Boss than amongst the finest people in the world.

I'm making a micro pond aprox 20x20 feet for 3 koi youst to prov a point. Or more spesific I made a bet with a koi owner that I could beat him in a growth competition, in a argument about fish keeping. So I'll make them a mud heaven vs his epdm rubber pool

I am hoping to build a duck pond by next season. Already done some surveying and cleared a little bit. The dam will be around 1200 cubic yards. It should be between 2 and 3 acres.
