Cabin fever here. Thinking forward in to warmer weather, I was wondering if anyone floats a boat on their pond. Scruff on this: The Pond Barge Saga Much more practical on a Pond.

I wonder if the guns work. Of course they do, you didn't see the guys loading the shells?

I was not previously aware that the Kriegsmarine used 32-40s on pocket battleships.

That guy had some time and cash on his hands.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

That guy had some time and cash on his hands. That was the first thing I thought. Really neat though. That would be really cool to see that coming up the Muskegon River with some line and metal in tow. Now I sound like a redneck, even though I did sleep in my camper last night while feeling the burn from the Synchrowave, from wearing a T-shirt. That's almost like staying in a Holiday Inn Express? Isn't It???

I thought it was really cool, haven't seen anything like it and right next door in the state of Maine.
Now that I think about it, I don't live far from Lake Winnipusakee and in the open water months the Mount Washington, a large paddle wheeler style boat, crusies the lake. Last July 4th while at the fireworks, I did see a 1/20 scale model of the Mount in Wolfeboro Bay.

It's funny you mention open water months, We get 5 months of ice here, I wonder how long before open water is shorter than hard water.

That is one beautiful replica, I wonder if the guns work. Yeah I was wondering that too AP. If they did they'd be great on jet skis on a public lake. Can you imagine what fun that would be! Gee thanks Scruffy. Now you've given me an idea for another project.

Cecil, I'll just bet you'll come up with something better... I was just thinking of mounting a Gatling gun on my boat but this boat brings that up to a whole new level! If I went to prison for mass murder at least I'd do it in style! Have I told anyone here now much I hate those jet skis on a public lake when I'm trying to fish? I really really hate them!

Cecil you ought to give one a try, you might be bringing it home.

Cecil you ought to give one a try, you might be bringing it home. 1.) I'm sure there are people that are responsible with them but I haven't seen one yet. I can't count how many times I've had them zip over my lines within 10 feet of the boat, or circle me when they have the whole frigging lake to bounce around on. We have an ever increasing war on fisherman here on some of our public lakes. Some of the lake people think they own the lake and you would be amazed at what they will do to discourage fisherman. On he other hand I've seen anglers trash the lakes which gives the rest of them a bad name. I know one lake where the lake residents rope in bluegill spawning ares with "No fishing Swimming Area" signs. On the same lake there is a water ski course right across the mouth of an opening that feeds into a culvert to another lake. Imagine that coming out of the culvert and a boat is bearing down on you. Right now we have a judge who has decided she doesn't want ice fisherman parking on the public road in from of her house she just bought. Never mind it's publc and has been used for years before she got there. She's had signs put up and has state troopers writing tickets even though in reality what she is doing is illegal. 2.) I doubt I could afford one. On a sad note, but you have to ask how someone that was smart enough to get through medical could do something so dumb... we had doctor on a local lake hook up a jumper cable to jetski in the water when it wouldn't start. Of course he electrocuted himself.

Cecil how did he get electrocuted, what was he using to jump start the ski.
In NY you have to take a course to get a license to drive a PWC, but a 16 year old can drive a thunder boat with no license.

It's been a while but from what I remember I believe he was using an extension cord(s) from his cottage into the water.
