Currently 10" of ice on my pond. This morning air temp was -31c. Ice was slow coming this year with a mild fall and later than normal cold temps. With this cold snap I should be able to drive on local lakes by the weekend. Let the fun begin.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

We were at 80.4 this morning, but there were slivers of ice in my martini this afternoon.

Not everyone can take the cold, that is why I live in PA and not Alberta. We have anything from skim to an inch. I have had ice keeping my conibears from triggering on a few muskrat sets the last couple days, raining today though, should be a good night tonight. Hoping to nab a few more before total freeze up.

You gotta think in Fahrenheit, that's only 24 F below zero, sounds much warmer.

Got a call from a neighbor up in the country. 15 degrees this morning and you guys have me thinking that Bowie is the banana belt.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

We got 10" here from the coastal storm yesterday, but the cabin is in the heavy lake effect zone, it started last night and is suppose to continue untill saturday afternoon, total snow expected 2 to 3 ft. I'm going up there sat. with the snowthrower to clean up where the plow can't reach. http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/OneKM.aspx?animate=true
