I'm more of a limerick kinda guy.

There once was a girl from South Bula,
Who used a hoop in her dance of the Hula,
All the guy's eyes they did strain,
And the frying pan brought pain,
But all was cured after a trip to the jula.

And for those that don't get it....

jula=jeweler

I took a little poetic liberty.

Who would have known a legitmate question posed by poor Fred would have disturbed the forum's collective "inner impishness". From insects to toad licking and hoopstress haikus. This chain of events makes perfect sense in MY mind...but it probably leaves some a little startled.

TJ, We are perched (no pun intended but actually it's not a bad little pun, especially when you consider that it's absolutely free and has no calories, I mean how often do you get something for free that doesn't hurt and doesn't make you fat, I know, not often, so enjoy the free pun and don't say I never gave you nothing) on the precipice between sanity and insanity, between reason and chaos, between right and wrong, and yes even between good and evil. It does not take much to force us in one direction or the other. A gentle breeze, the spoken word. A hula hoop.

Startled, scarred, in tamper proof restraints, it effects everyone slightly differently.

We need another conference...soon. I think we missed a grand opportunity for bongos and "power of the spoken word" clandestine meetings in smokey caves - maybe an offering to Bacchus/Dionysus in the form of cricket sacrifice? JHAP, with Viking helmet and goat leggings, gets to drink from the chalice filled with said cricket blood. Someone needs to photoshop that!

That's tomorrow night, it's Ricki's 50th birthday tomorrow, so I thought I'd do something a little "special" if'n ya get my drift.

and before anyone asks, yes I'm being serious, tomorrow is in fact JWHAP's 50th birthday.

and before any of the ladies yell at me for posting my wife's age, yes I did get permission to post her age, of course I asked permission AFTER I posted her age but hey, late permission is better than no permission.

You guys must have too much time on your hands....but I appreciate the humor. Life is too short to be serious all of the time.

There is something special about the picture of the girl with the hula hoop.

There is, isn't there Fred. Kinda mesmerizing ain't it? That's why I only bring it out on special occasions. Like a good wine this photo must be savored, not swilled like some cheap beer, but elegantly sipped to ensure that you sense all of the subtle flavors.

Well, glad to see that Fred hasn't left his forum key at the front desk and sprinted to his car...

We aren't normally like this, Fred...but certainly aren't normal by any stretch of the imagination, either. With Winter approaching and our ponds sleeping Midwest guys, at least, tend to get a little punchy.

Fred has a pond and a sense of humor. He'll do just fine here.

And we ARE normally like this. There's no point in candy-coating it.

Oh and Fred, if you think this is bad wait until January and February, when cabin fever claims the sanity of our winter bound brothers. Now that is when the stuff really hits the fan! Stay with us, learn and laugh.

I have a feeling JHAP does that a lot.

I have a feeling that's why her name is JWHAP. It's the written version of the sound made every time she smacks him in the back of his head - you know, a Jeff "WHAP!" And here you all thought it meant the obvious thing!

Dang, Randy. What does that have to do with feeding insects to your fish?

It's my adopted family creed.

That and...

..."Well it sure sounded like you said yes when I asked you!"

You wouldn't believe the adventures that have ended with that very phrase.

.......usually preceded with a very loud "OH SNAP!" somewhere in the middle.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Same goes for an man with, how shall I put this, a man with a dubious nature.
