If james' HSB is 5.5 lbs., then mine might have been 5 lbs. also.

I'll just say they were 15 lbs.

Rex's was still only 2-3 lbs.

Then again, james is pretty tall.

Compared to some around here (hint), the young fellow next to him is pretty tall.

I agree with Sunil his does look bigger but I did weigh it with a boga grip. I will try to show one of the larger ones next week. I have been having great success with rattle traps that are the silver color and also the swimming minnow made out of rubber. We have also had some good success with the double bladed bass lures.

Met some wonderful guys today on the ice. I'd never been ice fishing before, but we are planning on getting into it this year so I took my boy out to show him some of the huts on a nearby lake. He wanted to walk out onto the ice and while out there I got to talking to some of the guys out there. Wonderful people and let my boy pull a few trout up through the ice. Great fun. Hope to meet up with them again sometime. Looks like we might be heading out tomorrow with an older gentleman who's looking for some company. I certainly see what all the hype is about now.

George, how about a personal fly fishing lesson on 1/10/2010? I'll be driving through there on my way to Big Wells to deer hunt on the 11th. \:\)

George,

Rex is great company; however, if you don't mind a bit of unsolicited advice, I'd lock up all your goats before he comes to visit. Otherwise, he may be posting his pics of "Texas scrub deer" on the hunting thread!

Rex, I would love to have the opportunity to meet you in person and a vist.

But a fly fishing lesson - you gotta be kidding ....
You don't want to learn my bad casting habits...
Seriously, I love to help others with their fly casting because it forces me to go back to basics to hone my own skills.

Some folks make fly casting complicated when it's a very easy sport to learn - much simpler than teaching someone to cast level wind gear.

May have a schedule problem however - I'll PM when I know for sure.

George, to those of us that had the pleasure to witness your fly casting at the 08 Conference we know better than to believe your modesty.

Rex is a great guy, you'll like him, well unless you have any exposed PVC.

Im getting cabin fever to go fishing but the weather continues to not cooperate. I guess if you guys up north can catch fish when the pond is frozen we in the south should be able to catch fish when the the temps are in the fifties.

Shoot, James, the fishing is great here in the 50's.

I just turned 50 this year, and it's the best fishing I've ever had!
