i checked my pond sunday and surface temp was 60 and it was about 55 a few feet below the surface. the hurricane dumped about 6 or 7 inches of rain on me yesterday and the pond is muddy now. the tilapia were still visible a few weeks ago at feeding time. they have seemed to have gotten a little spooky as the summer went by. at first they would come right to the dock at feeding time, later they stayed further out.. i thought i was gonna be able to see them swimming around slowly once it got cooler and also be able to scoop them up with a net to eat??

Look for the warmest water if they are still alive.

Scott, my place is about 65 miles north of you and my water is in the high 50's. I want tilapia next spring. I am curious which type did you get and how many or poundage? I hope to get some out next Fall and winter them over next year inside in an aquarium.
