I have been battling a cough for a week plus now and have been prescribed fancy codine cough syrup. Of course that doesn't work either.
So my mom looks online and what does she find. Vapo rub on the feet with socks is supposed to cure a cough. So here I sit with Vapo rub on my feet.
I will update if my cough gets better.
Anyone else got any good remedies for a cough?

My sister breaths through her toes, too. Honey and Jack Daniels.

Most viruses and bugs can't survive in your blood if your blood is strongly mixed with Jim Beam Black.
At least that's what I've told myself on several occasions.
For your method, MikeyBoy, do you throw the socks away when you're done?

ironically, my wife and I have laughed at her grandmother when she would smear vicks on our younger son's feet when he was little. It may just work. If your cough is dry, non-productive, get a store brand of decongestant with guifenesin in it. It will almost immediately loosen up the congestion and your caugh will be productive.. At night use this and a cough suppressant with detromethorphrane, or a few shots of Jim Beam Black, Gentleman Jack, aged moonshine with peppermint in it.
I know, you're thinking, what does someone from Miss. know about aged moonshine.

Ha ha, thanks everyone. An update. Vicks did not work, I was up till 3 coughing up a storm.
All ideas with alocohol I will have to try another day, I am currently on antibiotics for a sinus infection, no alcohol allowed.
I have been using tussin, and even got prescribed tussin ac with codine.. no luck. i am worried i may have bronchitus again.

The myth of not mixing alcohol with antibiotics is a rank conspiracy theory.

She has been taking care of me wonderfully when she is able to be hear. After I moved back home from college we are now an hour away from each other. I usually go to her on the weekends, (fri night-sunday) and she comes here tues night-thurs. It's not ideal, but we are trusting God is providing.
Actually I have a full time job where I am quickly rising and have already established myself as the companies #2, so that is already good evidence that He is providing. I just need a pay bump then I'll make enough to go buy my wonderful lady the ring.

I prefer beer. When you pour it into a glass, you can see all of the vitamins rising to the top.
Actually, I really depend on De Kuypers Apricot Brandy to slick up my gullet to fight the dry cough.

I wish I could see my hubby only on the weekends, instead of working together every day for 30 years.

I just need a pay bump then I'll make enough to go buy my wonderful lady the ring. People (read "your fiance") will expect you to spend 2 months salary on that ring. So time things so you can buy it while you are making your old salary and pay for it after the raise.

Really long day, longer weekend, there has to be something more than this? Six months till they come back to treat the lake, it is killing me. I didn't know Theo was cheap, till now. Heck, when you are Mikey & girl's age, the size of the ring doesn't matter.

Thankfully she doesn't have overly expensive tastes. We have looked at rings before (If I were on my own, Lord knows what I would pick out) And it has been in the 500-1000 dollar range.
Which even now is MUCH less then 2 months salary.
On an unrelated note I haven't been fishing in a month and I am itching badly. I think I am going to try to take her cousins to the pier on the ocean this Saturday. Hopefully they will enjoy being out there even though catch rates aren't high. They are only 4 so their patience is not a lot.
Also on a note related to the original post of this thread; I have discovered my cough is worse the more I talk. I think God is trying to tell me something.

Yes Essup: GF Lakechair's mom is in the hospital again, up in Flint. Our water temp is 48, they say they have the permit - she is coming home tonight to check her e-mail and call the fishkillers. Our water level went down (we had beavers downstream on the creek that stopped everything up with regards to our outflow.) It is discouraging, our clarity went from 4'2" on Oct. 21 down to 2'4" this past weekend. We had some heavy rains. It is all about the run-off and storm drains. Will be interesting after fish kill II, my new camera won't turn on, that is 3 digital cameras now, am sending back for repair.

Mikey, tell you what I did. I proposed and said let's go and let you pick out a ring.(Of course, she said yes.) We went to the diamond store and started looking. She asked how much we could spend. I told her it was up to her but at some point (I didn't say how much) I can write a check. However, if it's too much, I'll have to make payments and I'm not about to get married until the ring is paid off. I thought she chose quite wisely.
How's that for cheap Theo?
