Undoubtedly a Michael Jackson fan.

Thank you Nate I may just see about doing that. The problem is I only weighed him I didn't measure him.

I wanted fish for dinner, so I tried fishing the pond this evening, post cool front/rain. Using the BC technique of small jig head on the bottom with a worm I caught a few BG, what looked like a BG/PSK or a RES/GSF cross and 2 LMB. The panfish weren't that thick, nor that big, (about 7") so I released them. The first LMB that I caught was about 10" and FAT, so that one went back as well. The 2nd LMB is the same one that I caught while fishing at night for CC with a piece of cut GSH on the bottom. Even tho I was using a circle hook, he swallowed the hook, so I cut the line and let him go. That was what, 6 weeks ago?

Not this time. He still had the eye of the hook protruding from his gullet, and he (or maybe she) looked thinner than before. 15" long, 1.5#. (fishing with 2# test) According to the chart, it should have weighed 1.7#.

Gotta go and make dinner.

Tonight was the best Stubby Steve's fishing I have had yet. I caught a half dozen nice LMB in about a half an hour.

I thought I had a nice LMB when I caught this 4 lbs, 3 oz 17 incher,

but was proven wrong by this new pond record (weight): 20 Inches, 5lbs 7 oz.

Thank you, Aquamax and Stubby Steve!

Man, I should have stayed longer!

I guess we should have fished in that pond.

Their mouths are just so tiny!!! Its amazing how fat fish get when they gorge themselves and dont have to work all day long for their dinner.

Yes. They have stayed on pellets much longer this Fall than any other species in either of my ponds. Water temps got into the upper 40's last week and they stopped feeding, but it has warmed up this week and they are eating again with a vengeance.

How are your BG doing with those guys around?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

There are fairly good numbers of small BG up to 6 1/2" or so. Not many bigger than that, due to the BG/RES fishkill last Winter, but the big BG that are there are in great condition.

Nice looking fish Theo!

A guy on another forum was asking what to use on feed trained trout and I suggested Stubby Steve's. I assume they'd work right?

Nice !!! Fast fish growth.
The mouth is the right size for the skeletal structure. It’s the muscle and fat that are over sized. That is common in fish with very fast growth resulting from lots of food. My guess is you are looking in part at the results of last year's fish kill and feeding.

Theos, why did you have to send DIED a PM?

Can't you tell us if this bass hit the skillet?

Dam_it Man! Have the guts to admit it.

It's your pond and it's awesome. You made that fish.

What all was in it's stomach?
