I was thinking of building a scaled down version of a horse run-in shed to use for firewood storage. Anyone know where I can get detailed plans? I've looked all over the internet and can't find any.

If you need pictures on the basics of small pole building construction, see I built an oarhouse. If you provide the dimensions of what you want, I'll be happy to provide my tried and true seat-of-the-pants lumber sizing recommendations.

Thanks Theo. That is similar to what I was thinking about. Maybe something more like this... Maybe 10'x15'? Seems like it would be relatively simple to construct although I don't have any experience with roofs.

Hey Rob,
In the lumber/contractor section of Lowes they have a Material Takeoff and Project Guide that is free. It's about 150 pages and includes materials lists and dimensions for dozens of different projects. They have everything from stairs and decks to sheds, pole barns and gazebos in this book. Inside the back cover, you can order blueprints for any of the projects from $10-$300 depending upon the level of difficulty.
Since it's a free book it might give you some ideas on how to put together your own plans or you might find one that works for you.
Good luck.

Ya know, I used to subscribe to Mother Earth News. Pretty neat mag.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
