Being naive to this whole new world of pond management, I decided to pose this question. Is Arkla Texoma(?) Aquaculture Center, owner Rex Alan Curtis, a reputible business?

If this is not a question I should be asking on here, I apologize. I contacted them from an ad in the paper and some things don't seem right. His stocking advice is completely contrary to the advice given by Pond Boss and most of its' forum users. Plus the ad seems misleading...maybe I am answering my own question....

Run away.

This guy is not allowed to sell fish in several states because of his bad business practices.

Run Forrest Run!!

There's no such thing as a free lunch or free fish.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Wise to consult the Forum, Cougar. I have no experience but boy some of our pb family sure has, and everything I've heard has been very negative.

Can anyone help Cougar out with Hatchery suggestions in Ms? Eric?

Seems he plead guilty to passing bad checks in Missouri in 2000---after a warrant was issued.

Fortunately, I have never seen one of his ads. I'd kinda like to mess with him wanting him to stock a 300 acre lake in Anchorage or northern Maine.

Wow...thanks for the warnings!

people amaze me.................that guy is a scoundrel!!!

how does he sell a single fish anymore with the internet so accessible for folks to research him and find out about him...

He told me that Bob Lusk's knowledge of fish wouldn't fit in a thimble when I asked him if he were familiar with pondboss mag. Ha! After he ran my pond numbers through a "computer" he said i needed to stock 700 bass, 700 HBG, and700 BG in an acre and a half pond!! also went by alan curtis only...asked him if his whole name included Rex and he said no...

Cougar glad you found us. I want to make sure we do not hold you up either. Make sure when talking to Matt let us know timeframe not sure we are going to Arkansas right away. If not we can make arrangements to get you in touch with the right guy. Good luck.

Well at lease this guy was correct on one subject.

Bob Lusk's knowledge of fish definitely wouldn't fit in a thimble.

Hell, Bob Lusk's knowledge of fish wouldn't fit in all of the compartments of an oil tanker.

Incredible!

I'd have to play with the guy a little bit, but this guy said some harsh things to the Guvnor (Davidson) after Guv pulled out.

I feel for all those folks who didn't have the benefit of knowing about Pond Boss before ordering from this guy.

Wow...this bothers me on several levels. I feel sorry for all the folks screwed over by this guy, and it burns me to hear him dig on Bob. I can't believe a businessman with the ethics of a international gun smuggler is actually involved in something as wholesome and American as a fish hatchery. Sounds like a crooked carnival owner.

Dude...are you thinking what I'm thinking? Perhaps it's time to make a few substantial orders for our condo associations in, say...the middle of a swamp? \:D ;\)

I've got to fully agree.

Bob Lusk's pond knowledge wouldn't even come CLOSE to fitting in a thimble.

Mine would, however.

Now, Bruce, ixnay with the excessive humility. Only if it were a very, very big thimble, perhaps the size of a grain silo.

Oh come on Bruce, even I have enough pond knowledge to fill a one quart pail. Well not completely full mind you but at least half way, well maybe not half way, but at least a third of the way. Yep that's gotta be it. A one quart pail, one third full. And that ain't bad.

And before any one else says it I know, I know,

"JHAP you're two thirds short of a quart alright."

I knew it was gonna happen so I thought I'd beat you to it.
