I live in Georgia and am thinking about stocking threadfin shad in my pond which already has an established population of Bass and bluegill. I was wondering if anyone knew how beneficial stocking shad will be. How much faster will my bass grow. Is it really worth the $1500 that all the hatcheries in my area are asking?

To see what has been discussed here previously about threadfin shad use the search feature (upper right of page). Use search words 'threadfin' and search in drop down headings or forum headings (Forum Search) of Questions and Observations, Types of Fish to Choose, Creating the Food Chain, Evaluating and Adjusting Fish.., and Corrective Stocking. These searches should give you ample reading about threadfin shad in ponds.
