The article didn't say whether the creek was still running and I have a problem with algae die off and DO crash with running water. I suspect industrial or homeowner lawn pollution. But then, I'm certainly no expert.

Zebra Mussels won't be that big of a problem. They can stand the heat and die off at 90F. I sampled Lake Dardanelle up here in Arkansas and only found 6. Last year they found several hundred.

Chris, a TPWD biologist says they believe the mussels have adapted and can now stand higher water temps. They found adults that could be several years old in one of the tributary streams. Selective evolution has its way... All it takes is one mussel in a billion to be genetically more tolerant to hot water. Before long its genes are spreading allowing mussels to live in lakes they never could before.
